Shur-Green Farms has now been issued a warning letter from the FDA for a number of their actions that involved the distribution of lasalocid-contaminated "soyoil" into the animal feed stream. This letter provides details not previously released, including the fact that Shur-Green first entered into an agreement to collect and transport lascadoil waste beginning in July of 2013. We now also know that it was a load delivered a year later, on July 30, 2014, that caused the deaths of the 57,700 turkeys on a farm in Michigan. And, even while these events were unfolding in Michigan, Shur-Green continued to sell the contaminated product to unspecified customers.
