Michigan Small Farm Council invited to participate in the Urban Livestock Workgroup.

April 2014
Approved version of the 2014 Site Selection GAAMPs


April 2014  
On April 28th a Special Meeting of the Agriculture Commission will be held, to again consider the proposed changes
to the 2014 Site Selection GAAMPs.  

March 2014
March 20th meeting of the Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development, 
which will include a vote on the proposed GAAMPs.  Details here.

February 2014  
Feb 12th Meeting of the Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development 
saw an unusually large turnout, with many new farmers advocating for their RTF rights.

January 2014 
MDARD receives a record number of responses to public comments, with 684 opposing proposed changes 
to Site Selection GAAMPs, with only 21 in support of those changes.

January 2014
MDARD announces Public Comment period for 2014 GAAMPs (Jan 6 - 22)
MSFC opposes changes to Site Selection GAAMPs that would deny RTF protection on
residentially zoned properties, affecting farmers in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Establish Newsletters to communicate with members

Become an Affiliate Member of the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund
to provide limited but free legal advice on certain farming issues to MSFC Members
