What are GAAMPs?
GAAMPs are Generally Accepted Agricultural Management Practices.
GAAMPs are sets of guidelines for farming practices, subject to annual review and revision by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. GAAMPs are voluntary, but need to be followed in order for the farming operation to be protected under the Right to Farm Act. Current sets of GAAMPs in Michigan include: manure; animal care; site selection; nutrient; irrigation; cranberry; farm markets; and pesticides (includes herbicides, fungicides, and alternative/organic pest control methods).
